Can students from any stream do an NTT course?
Yes. Students from arts, commerce and science can all do an NTT course. APTTI's eligibility is based only on level (10th, 12th or graduation), not stream or marks. Your stream can even help: science and commerce support early maths and number games, and arts supports language, music and creative activities.
What this means in practice
Nursery teaching draws on many strengths. What matters most is how you communicate with children and plan engaging activities.
Using your background
- Science: simple experiments, nature walks, sorting and observing
- Commerce: counting games, pretend shops, patterns
- Arts: stories, drama, music, craft, languages
Marks and percentages
Online private NTT does not require a minimum percentage. Government NTT or recruitment may: check notifications.
Which stream is best for nursery teaching?
None is best. Nursery teaching draws on all of them: language for stories and rhymes, maths for counting and patterns, science for curiosity and exploring, and arts for creativity.
Schools look more at how you communicate with children and parents than at your stream. A confident demo lesson matters more than subject marks.
What to do next
- Apply at the right level.
- Note activities that use your strengths.
- Bring them into your assignments.
What to keep in mind
Stream does not limit you, but strong spoken language skills matter in every school.
