NTT certificate: recognition and validity
Before you enrol in any nursery teacher training course, know exactly what its NTT certificate is accepted for: recognition, validity and delivery. Here is APTTI's position, stated plainly.
What the certificate shows
Your name, the course title and level (for example, Diploma in Nursery Teacher Training), the APTTI and International TEFL Canada logos, and notarisation from Canada. The certificate does not mention "online" or "distance" study.
Delivery
Certificates are shipped 30 to 90 days after you complete the course and your assignments are accepted. Shipping is free for learners in India; international learners should allow for postal times.
Where it is commonly accepted
Private preschools, playschools, day-care centres, the pre-primary sections of many private schools in India, and many private nurseries and community schools in the Gulf, Africa and Asia. Each employer makes its own decision.
Where it is not valid
Government teacher recruitment in India, which requires qualifications from NCTE-recognised institutions. National licensing in countries such as Singapore (ECDA), the Philippines (PRC), the UAE teacher licence, Nigeria (TRCN), Kenya (TSC) or South Africa (SACE). In those systems the course can support your professional development, but it is not a licence.
APTTI's status
AP Teacher Training Institute is a private, autonomous organisation (LLP India: AAH-9565; Canada: TN2032048). It is not accredited by India's Ministry of Education, NCTE, UGC or AICTE.
Check before you pay
Ask your target employer or authority which qualifications they accept, and ask us for the course details, total fee and certificate wording in writing.
