What is the eligibility for an NTT course?

By APTTI Educational Content · Updated · 2 min read

NTT eligibility depends on the level. At APTTI, the Certificate in Nursery Teacher Training needs 10th pass, the Diploma needs 12th pass and the PG Diploma needs graduation in any subject. There is no entrance exam and no teaching experience is required. Government NTT programmes set their own rules, usually 12th with minimum marks.

What this means in practice

Because online NTT is offered at three levels, almost anyone with 10th or above can start. Choose the highest level your education allows if you want the deepest training, or a lower level if you want a shorter, cheaper start.

APTTI NTT eligibility at a glance

  • Certificate: 10th pass, 120 hours over 6 months, ₹10,000 + GST (USD 170)
  • Diploma: 12th pass, 200 hours over 10 months, ₹20,000 + GST (USD 325)
  • PG Diploma: graduation, 240 hours over 12 months, ₹30,000 + GST (USD 475)

Things that do not affect eligibility

Your stream (arts, commerce or science), your marks, your age and whether you have taught before. International learners use the equivalent of 10th, 12th or a degree in their own system.

Eligibility for other nursery-related courses at APTTI

Montessori and Pre-Primary Teacher Training use the same entry levels: 10th for Certificate, 12th for Diploma and graduation for PG Diploma. The Integrated PG Diploma in Pre-Primary needs graduation. The International Teaching Diploma needs 12th for the Diploma and a degree for the PG Diploma.

For Early Childhood Care and Education, entry requirements are not published on APTTI's course page, so confirm them with admissions before applying.

What to do next

  1. Find your highest completed qualification.
  2. Choose the matching level.
  3. Keep a copy of your marksheet or degree for the application.
  4. Ask admissions if you have a foreign or unusual qualification.
ExampleAisha from Lagos holds the West African Senior School Certificate, which admissions treats as the 12th equivalent, so she joins the Diploma.

What to keep in mind

Meeting course eligibility does not mean you meet a particular job's requirements. Check those separately.
