Does the NTT certificate say "online" or "distance"?
No. APTTI's nursery teacher training certificate does not mention "online" or "distance" study. It shows the course title and level, the APTTI and International TEFL Canada logos and Canadian notarisation, the same as a certificate earned in a classroom.
What this means in practice
Learners often worry that an online label will reduce a certificate's value with employers. APTTI addresses this by issuing the same certificate regardless of study mode.
Being honest in applications
You should still describe your training accurately if asked: for example, "Diploma in Nursery Teacher Training, APTTI, studied online with tutor-assessed assignments". Employers value honesty and practical skills.
What employers check more
- Your demo lesson
- Your communication and English
- References and experience
- How you talk about children and safety
Talking about online study in interviews
Present online study as a strength: you managed your time, studied independently and applied learning in real settings. Give a specific example of an activity you designed during the course and what the children learned.
Employers increasingly see online professional training as normal, especially since 2020.
What to do next
- Keep your certificate safe.
- Describe your training accurately.
- Prepare a demo class.
What to keep in mind
Never alter a certificate. Misrepresentation can cost you a job and your reputation.
Common follow-up questions
Will employers know I studied online?
Only if you tell them; be honest if asked.
Is an online certificate less valuable?
Not when the training is solid and the employer accepts private certificates.
